Karen Valihora

Karen graduated from Yale University in 2000 with a PhD in English Literature and works as an English professor at York University in Toronto. She published a book on Jane Austen and moral philosophy called Austen’s Oughts in 2010. Together with her partner, Chris Fanning, she has five kids and has been living in the County since 2017, moving here permanently in 2020. In May 2023, Chris and Karen were delighted to become the latest publishers of the Picton Gazette, Canada’s oldest community newspaper.
One of the first things they did was launch a new “Books on Film” club in collaboration with the Regent.
