Charlie Bontje


Charlie began his aviation career with the Royal Canadian Air Force where he had the honour to serve our great nation for 20 years. He flew the C-130 Hercules on operational, tactical, Search and Rescue and humanitarian missions. His career shifted to commercial aviation, joining Air Canada for another 20 years on the Airbus 320. It was there that he became involved with the charity Dreams Take Flight flying children who would never have an opportunity to have their dream come true to spend a day at Disney World.  Charlie has lived in Picton since 1988 and has been volunteering with such organizations as the Picton Food Bank, the Second Time Around Store (Hospital Auxilliary) and the Millennium Trail.

He has volunteered at the Regent for 3 years at the concession and has also been a projectionist. Charlie feels it is an honour to be serving on the Board of this great theatre.
